From The Best Companion Dog In The World
Hi,I’m Allison,Along with My Husband Mike and Our Son Jimmy, we are all completely involved in the Love & Care of Our Beautiful Family of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
How & Why, you might ask, does a family live with 12 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. We not only do, We Love it!
Well it is a long Story of How we Got Here.
The Short Version is this….
We arrived back in the Great USA Early February 2000, from our many years living in Saudi Arabia. My Husband worked for ARAMCO, an oil Co. There.
We had promised Our boys a Puppy when we got back into our house in Phoenix, AZ.
After seeing the "Breed All About It" episode on Cavaliers on The Animal Planet, we knew that the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was the Dog for Us. Never had heard of the breed before and only knew what we learned watching the show.
First Sunday back in our house, Sunday Paper, An ad for a Cavalier Puppy. Paul Called, said she had a little Ruby Girl and then told me how much….Wow, That was sticker shock for sure! My first response was, "How about a Beagle?" Well you know the rest. After a few minutes of Begging, we were off to see the little girl.
We call that that period of our life the BC Years, Before Cavaliers! Because from that day forward, we call them the CC Years, Cavalier Crazy!
Kristy was everything and more, just the best Puppy we ever Knew. Potty Training went without a hitch and we were all deeply In Love with her.
When you Read or Hear how Cavaliers make wonderful Companions for Disabled & Elderly Folks, Believe it.
Two weeks after bringing Kristy into our Family, I became ill, was Hospitalized & Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
All our plans for our New Start Back Home were thrown into disarray to say the least. Kristy to the rescue. She was such a comfort to the whole family, she even came to visit me in the hospital. When a Puppy could have been an added stress at a time like that, She was truly a Blessing! You will never spend a Day in Bed Alone, when you have a Cavalier in the house.
Jump Forward a Year or so and We now had welcomed Chip(tri-color) Boy & Angel (Black & Tan)Girl,to our Family. We bred Kristy with a Handsome Black & Tan Male and she had 5 picture perfect Puppies.
We had so much fun with that bunch of Puppies. I tell a story about one of the little boys, Spike, on our Experience Page.
Well, I was able to convince Mike, that I could make My Dreams Come True, Breeding these wonderful dogs.
As they say, when a door is closed, Look for the Open Window. Breeding these Fantastic Dogs was Our Window.
We Found wonderful Homes for Kristy’s Boys and kept all three girls. With Mom & Girls + Angel & Our Main Man Chip, we were off to a great start.
We sold our house and left the City for the Cooler Climates of Northern Arizona. We found The lovely Town of Chino Valley, Arizona 120 miles North Of Phoenix.
After being so far away for so long, we did not want to move away from Family again, So Chino was Perfect.
We started from Scratch with 13 acres and moved up as soon as the well was in, the fence was up and the 70 Foot Mobile Home in Place. No Phone or Electric but a good generator and we were Officially Homesteaders.Phone, Electric & Satalite TV arrived as soon as was Humanly possible!
This was quite a change and has been Great for the whole Family.
The Boys love living in the Country & The dogs were in Heaven with a huge yard and lots of flying bugs to chase after. When we got our first snow, they found playing in it great, but for some reason it was no place to do their business! They aren’t mailmen, so when it rains or snows, put some papers down!
Our First project was a large addition to give our growing Family, more room. A whole new house is in the Future.
Jump ahead to ….. Kristy’s girls all had a litter and we kept Two Girls from Lexie & Two Girls from Lucy. Pansy had all boys, catch her next time!
We also Brought Bounty & Georgie into the Family as an adition to our lines. Bounty is our Happy Go Lucky Blenhiem Boy & Georgie is a darling Tri-color Boy.
That is how we surrounded ourselves with 13 Cavaliers. We are on hold now, unless Pansy has a little girl we can’t resist !
Fall Of 2007.... More changes around here!
We have moved once again! We are still in Chino Valley Arizona but much closer to town. We have moved to a One Acre parcel just off pavement, which we are just loving. Again we have started from raw land....New house with lots of room for our wonderful family of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and us too!
We added a new Tri boy Named Cowboy and have just brought in another little Tri-boy, Cooper. Pansy finally had a little girl and we kept here and named here Susie Q.
Our lives still revolve around our Cavaliers and we are still Loving it!
We have met the most wonderful families and made some great friends, all who also just love Cavaliers!
Cavalier Crazy?
Yes, but you will be to if you aren’t already.
Believe it or not, that was the short version. We have had many adventures and Learned a great many lessons that may provide helpful information to anyone who also Dreams of Raising, Breeding or Showing their Cavalier.
